Default CEL randomly gone with straight pipe

As the title says. Just picked up a 2000XJ about a week ago, it has a straight piped cat, so obviously the CEL light was on. I knew this ahead of time, and didnt really care about as its not hurting anything

Question is, why did the CEL light randomly turn off, and is now staying off. The bulb is not burnt out, it lights up when you first start the car like normal.
All I have done mechanically is a rad flush, changed oil, redid diffs, and ran a bit a seafoam through it. I dont see how any of these would make the light go off?

if anyone has a answer, please let me know

is there a post cat O2 sensor? if not it would not have turned the light on to begin with, and what ever was actually causing it you obviously fixed. it really could be anything though... one of my friends called me with a MIL, and his gas cap wasn't on tight

oh well, im sure its fine, but if anyone has any answers/ideas, feel free to let me know

Check the Error codes, see if anything comes up?

i did try the off-on-off-on-off-on method and nothing came up. If i have time, ill bring it up to a autozone. The light came back on today, so im not sure why its doing it, im guessing the seafoam maybe put a coating of something on the o2 sensor and it finaly wore off. Is this a posibility?

guess it looks like its time to build an o2 sensor :)

edit: holding odometer button and turning to on position gave no error codes either

i ran no cat in my last 97 tj with a post cat 02. my first tj was header, gutted (empty) cat, and free flow exhaust.
second tj was stock manifold, no cat(straght pipe), stock exhaust with proflow muffler.
never got a cel on either. both ran stock factory o2's
