Granholm's school budget cuts are already showing real life results.

I think I may have found the ultimate spelling fail. The U-haul truck I'm renting says "check gages" on it. It's a newer GMC box truck. Guess putting that "u" in gauges was too difficult? I'm assuming they did it on purpose but still.

Sorry

I just attempted to call GM but could not get through. But if I had this is how the conversation would have taken place..............

Hi.

Who I am is unimportant. However I would like to inform you that on your older GMC trucks you use the word "gage" for one of your warning lights. You people at GMC trucks are stupid.

Sincerely,
The smarter person.

It can also be used as a verb, but that isn't relevant to what Cglenn posted.

Kinda figured it would be a different form of the word but still. Every other car and truck I've been in has it spelled gauge.

They do that on purpose to make it look like Roman architecture.

I design clusters for a living, the industry uses both spellings, but "gages" is more common. Just took a look in my specs from GM, they always refer to it as "Gages".

I was assuming that it was that way on purpose, however like I said, I don't think I've ever seen it spelled that way in a car. I managed to double check on here before I posted that pic, gages comes up as a spelling error when I have check spelling enabled. The suggestion closest to it is "gauges".
