north of sand lake? I'd suggest co. road 519 just north of wakefield in the ottawa national forest. there are more deer in that area than I've seen anywhere else in michigan. otherwise, find some state land just outside the seney national wildlife refuge.

there is alot of room around kalkaska/williamsburg or between kalkaska and grayling.

i drive to sand lake for rifle season. there is 10 times the deer around there. (its actually ensley center.)

I always hunted near Moddersville in Missaukee Co. 1000's of acres of state land, just down the road from moddersville store.

state land

Dude, There is plenty of state and federal land to hunt on , you need to put forth a LOT more effort than asking about a hunting spot on this site. Google map anywhere and click the "sattelite" icon and zoom right in to a spot and check it out. I have killed some whoppers on state land, but it takes time, research and desire. Good luck Guy....Be Safe.
