Default can tires get ruined from sitting too long

my neighbor has a suburban forsale that im sure i can get real cheap and i just want the tires. has 35" goodyear mtrs with atleast 90% tread. but he says the truck hasnt moved in 3 years. the tires are a little low but not flat. can tires get messed up from sitting that long? could the belts in the tires get messed up or anything? i figure if not ill buy it cheap for the tires and part out the lift and what ever else is good. what do you guys think?

yeah are they dry rotted or have bulges from the side walls? not a good idea to buy them unless you spend like 75 bucks on them or put them on a vehicle you dont have to depend on to get you places everyday

They will definitely dry rot. I've got 2 sets of tires in the shed, one with still some tread left, the other set has tons - nearly new. Cracked all to hell and leaks air.

it depends on how old the tires are too. If they were put on shortly before the truck was parked, they'd probably be fine.

Sitting while flat will REALLY screw them up.

see what they do sitting inside full of air on cement in one spot for a long period of time...you'll ruin them that way too
