Default Duck hunting fish point...

Anyone wanna go or can I tag along? I have no friends that duck hunt. I'm tired of hunting local ponds.

Let me know! I'm thinking about going up and getting in the draw for this weekend if I don't go to Grayling. I've never been up there but it sounds like it's a blast.

Ya, usually after opening week it slows down, but I have heard of it being a nightmare. That monday is the first opening day after the reserved hunt too so it's usually busy.

we all ways went at 5am entered in and if our # was to far back we PASSED and took left over zones after all the hunters took their # that way you can enter in the PM lottery....if we took our Spot in the AM we took left overs in the PM hunt, never have I gone there and not limited out between the both hunts over the weekend

Ever go to Shiawassee refuge? Went there for opening morning, got drawn dead last, and had a crappy spot. If we had shot a little better we all would have got our wood duck limits. They had not taken crops off so the fields were not open.

No, Ive thought about trying there too. Do you need a boat or can you hunt with waders?

The part we went to you need a boat to get to. There lots of places where waders would do just fine.

This may also help, the numbered areas are the blind locations. We hunted 67-76, it was tough.... boat, and waders for this area. I think the 30's and 40's are fields that they flood when the crops are off, these spots are the good ones.

I was actually supposed to go grayling this weekend but we didn't go cause of the weather. Didn't want the wife and kid to have to sit in the cabin all weekend with family. (10 people in 20x20 cabin)

not sure if I'm gonna head up there this year or not but if I do I'll get ahold of ya!
