Default New guy from MI

Hey guys I'm Keith. I used to go to school at NMU up in Marquette, MI. I know a few of the UP Jeepers guys and just about all of the NMU Trailcats guys. I had this unfortunate thing happen called graduation and I'm transferring to UNOH in Lima, OH to study High Performance Motor Sports. So for the time being I'm stuck in the Detroit area with not much wheeling around, trying to make some money, but failing at that too...

Hopefully I can forum wheel with you guys for a while while trying to find a truck to put together. I'm typically a chevy guy i guess. I hold no real preference to brand other then I grew up with chevys and know them for the most part. Although in all honesty I have usually been more impressed with fords for reliability. Not trying to start a chevy ford war or anything just my position. lol I still hold a soft spot in my heart for 67-72 or 73-74 chev K5, yea the full convertible ones...someday I'll own one!

About the closest thing to a wheeler I own at the moment is a bone stock 95 F150, standard cab long box truck. 5.0L/auto 4x4 drive train. Not a bad runing truck for 220k miles on it, and man is it rusty. Its a step up from the 1988 suburban i had for a bout 10min only due to the fact that it hasn't blown up the motor in it yet. lol

I'm currently looking for around the same era bronco, or ext. cab truck to replace it, even tho i did just buy it a few weeks ago, thought about fixing it, the cab is fixable, needs rockers and cab corners, but I kinda don't have the time to put into it before winter to save her. Something a wee bit more solid would be nice, and a bit more cost effective for me right now. Problem is need something close to free to get me going, I'm talking around $500-$1000 is the range. I have a 5 speed tranny lying around so kinda looking for something that maybe has a blown trans or even engine I could deal with, since I do have the rusty but trusty F150 around. Although I would like to sell the F150 once I find its replacement, so keeping it running would be beneficial.

Anyway look forward to meeting some of you guys and hope to wheel with some soon! if you happen to have anything forsale local to me, shoot me a pm. I'll be hunting the forsale threads soon!

I almost did drive it into the ground. Guy actually emailed me the other day seeing if I'd either put a clutch in it for $100 or buy it back for $900. I laughed at him and said no way I would every buy it back at $900 since i sold it to him for $750 and on top of that he blew the clutch out of it after he bought it from me...lol

And Ford trumps red Chrysler jeeps that's for sure...OHHHHH lol.

Sold the K-5 chassis, engine trans and T-case. Officially completely gone as of last night. Sold chassis few weeks ago, but motor just went last night. I guess I've moved on to ford for the time being...who knows if a sweet 72 K5 drops into my lap...it may change my mind. lol
