WOOT, this garage whore might get done some day.

Trying to do inner fender walls now. What do you guys put your fuse blocks in? I am using a 99 silverado fuse block and was going to use a battery box, but it is way bigger than what I need?? Might just use a tupperware type container?

Looks good!

Well, in looking for options to store my fusebox, I saw the chevottass build thread = http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...=573543&page=3

. He used a tuperware container, so I sent him a pm to see how it is working out for him. Right now, it seems like the easiest option?

i have had zero issues with the tupperware container. just get one with a color top you like. i used a blue one and painted the top black. from pulling it on and off, temp changes, mud, snow, rain, etc. the paint didnt hold up. but the container has held up great and kept it all dry.

It's taking way to long, but still making a little progress.

Below = 2 ghey flex pictures after trimming the tub. The tub will need more trimming. Right now we can lift a tire ~ 36" before running out of room in the rear wheel well. Should be enough for all of the local ice cream shops.

..

The last picture just shows that most of the engine wiring is done. We need to add the fuse box and some relays.

I am hoping to have it ready for a trial run by the end of March, still not sure if I will make it.

IT RUNS!

Looks like I have to replace the water pump and trying to straiten things up etc.. but it fired right up. Trying to get exhaust done this Friday.

No pictures since the only thing that looks different is the wiring is closer to done.

It drove under its own power last night for the first time. Still needs a lot of finishing, but dropped it off at =

Exhaust Special-T's
5401 East Apple Avenue
Muskegon, MI 49442-3007
(231) 788-4077

I sure hope they do a decent job. It makes me seriously nervous to pay someone for service when I can not watch it be done.

Well, the exhaust went better than I was afraid it would. It is not completely perfect, but nice considering what they had to work with. They had to use a ss magnaflow because the flowmaster 70 would not fit where I wanted the muffler (next to the t-case). It turned out pretty quite till you stand on it, which will be just what I wanted.

I got to drive it around some and really like how it turned out (my first coil sprung injected jeep).

The rear axle needs gears in a bad way, so that is the next thing on the list. Also need to cut the rear of the tub some more, cuss it touched while driving it through some ditches etc.. Of course there are 100 more things to make better as well.

Congrats on getting it running!
Video of big smoky burnouts or it isn't really running.

Does the trans seem to work ok? Meaning does your VSS seem accurate?

Thanks, I think.

The vss worked good. I did have to adjust the depth with it assembled though (my guesstimate was off when I built it). I have ran it with my obd2 reader and the speed pick up is accurate. Actually the only code I have is the ecm telling me I don't have a check engine light installed yet.

I am way to cheap to do burnouts, unless I put some rollers on it.

Not much new with this. Been using it very little and had to fix some stuff (FUEL PUMP & DELIVERY). 1 thing is this =
5.3 diagnostics - Great Lakes 4x4. The largest offroad forum in the Midwest
.

Submersible fuel line = Gates Hose #27093-5/16 #27097-3/8

Also, trying to finish up gages etc... this week. The guy who tuned my ecm is going to do some more tuning for performance etc. this weekend.

EDIT:

It got tuned on the 20th (8-20-11).
The main change was a secondary tranny tune that makes it rev very hi and shift very firm etc.... Works great for dune climbs and fun. Makes it seem like you have a stall converted with a built tranny, then push the button and back to a typically tuned tranny (not stock, but very driveable.
I like it allot and it works awesome.

Still just using this to flex out at wesco.

I will be needing to make the front suspension work better this winter. I am wondering how much ride (mostly dunes) difference there is between oem coils with remote ressi shocks and coil-overs? I would appreciate any input on that, as I would like to make the next step the last one for atleast a few years.

Coilovers. Your geometry should be just fine for go-fast and a nice ride, but the XJ coils and cheapie shocks were certainly a short cut. You could try better shocks and air bumps, but coilovers would be the ticket. Pics?

Thanks. I was afraid that would be the answer. I do need to get some pics, but its not real pretty, that is a goal this winter to dress it up a little.

Just got a rock auto (like anti-rock) sway-bay from bbaxj, that should help street driving manners going to the dq.
