Default 1996 Silverado 5.7L Vortec- Dogging it after start-up

So everyonce in a while the after my truck has been sitting for a while, it's cooled down to surrounding air temp, When i start it, it starts fine, 1 second to turn over, and it runs just fine nothing wrong. But sometimes when i go to take off in drive, doesn't do it in reverse (prolly cause I don't give it much gas in reverse lol), It seems like its boggin down, there's fuel and it doesn't seem like it's about to stall or anything, it's just there's not as much forward movement as there should be.

I was thinking that it might be the transmission, if it was the motor shouldn't it be doing something else anyother time?

anyother thoughts?

Thanks In Advance

Or try cleaning it first.

ok, i'll give it a clean

And it just did it again last night, this was the worst time so far though.

It was sitting for about 6 hours, it was about 35 degrees out, i started it up and it started fine and everything but when i went to take off it wasn't drivng forward like it should. I was pushing the gas, but the motor wasnt revving and it was like it just wasn't getting the right amount of gas for how much i had the pedal pushed in

It wasn't spitting or sputtering, it was runnig fine but it just wan't revving or moving like it should have been

fuel filter? does it have any codes? have a real scanner thrown on it, make sure both coolant temp sensors are working properly, and a 98 do something similar, one showed like 50 degrees and the other one showed like -39 degrees but it straightened up when it got good and warm, but was still over fueling.

it's in overdrive, but other than that I don't know if it's actually in 1st gear, it does make sense though.....

No codes, hasn't thrown the check engine light since i've had it

it doesn't need to get up to op temp, just for the first few seconds of acceleration, is when it does it

Replace fuel filter and then check fuel pressure. My wifes Bravada started doing that right before the fuel pump took a shit...replaced pump and filter and it runs like a champ!

We clean them all the time with a q-tip and carb cleaner.
