Default Trans question

The guy I bought my new eb from said he had the c4 rebuilt, but never filled it with fluid. shortly after he installed it, he parked the truck. It's now been sitting for about 3 years. What should I do to prevent any damage, assuming it's still good. Do I need to pull it out and disassemble it and have it gone through again, or can I flush it with something to get rid of any rust that might have formed?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Will

I think you will be fine. I would pull the pan off and take a look see. I think you will find it's pretty clean in there.

When a transmission is built they are lubed up pretty good for ease of installation (seals, o-rings, etc). As long as the trans has not been exposed to dirt and grit from sitting around, you should be fine.

Cool. I hope that's the case. If so, I might try and get it running as is. I'm curious to see how that Cleveland runs.
