Default Well my Saturday sucked....

10/10/2009

It was 10pm Saturday night I was driving to my friends place after work. I had the green light and the kid was stopped at his red light. I got half way through the intersection and he decided to stomp it go even though his like was still red and he hit me. I was going East when he hit me and I did a complete 360, watched my tire fly 50ft in the air across 3 lanes of traffic and land in the grass in front of 7-11. When I stopped spinning I was facing north half in the turning lane and half in the one eastbound lane. The kid never got out of the car to see if I was ok. Two guys who saw it happened got out to help me, one guy parked his truck right in front of my car to make sure no one hit me. The cops showed up pretty dang fast and everyone who saw it told them it was this kids fault. The cops called an ambulance for me because I was having pretty severe pain in the top portion of my chest. I spent 1.5hrs in ER and was sent home. I have a sprained shoulder. My neck is killing me and my shoulder's ache something awful.

This was on Mackinaw and Tittabawasee. I was headed East towards Saginaw and he was headed North on Mackinaw.

The car is a total loss, he hit me hard enough my gas cap flew off, the tire with rear brake and other parts flew off, the body is shoved in. The interior plastic panels are touching the seatss, the door is shoved up and in, etc.

Holy shit, gas is only 2.54 there? It's about a dollar more than that here.
Glad you're ok though for the most part, sucks about your car, hope you heal good. I'd get some insurance claims on that too, I'm sure you'll have bills to pay.

LOL I type 80-90wpm :)

My friend just drove by his house and he says the kids car is sitting int he front yard without the bumper or grille.

I called Lee Free and he said that I wasn't hurt enough so he won't do anything for me.

I tried calling his insurance and they must have been closed for the day already. So I'm going to try again Wed since I work til 5 tomorrow.

If they won't pay I am going to file a small claims against the kid or do what I need to to get my cash because I lost my health insurance when I got laid off.

I have a doc. appt in the morning so well see how that goes. My neck has been hurting more and more each day and Ive been having issues sleeping.. I had to take a tylenol 3 last night just to fall asleep.

Get a lawyer and get a settlement you should have a good case and you should be compinsated for the damages both you and the car.

lol. I can see it now. Getting a letter next year "Mr. Walters, you were at a 7-11 11 months ago, and an accident occurred. Because you were at ONE of our stores, you owe us $1,000,000 USD due immediately."

send that out to enough people, it would only take one!

Probably, 7-11 is the cause of what happened to awalters' Jeep earlier this week, and now 7-11 has claimed another. I'm sure the kid was rushing to get to 7-11, he probably got word that the Slurpee machine was almost out of wild cherry flavor.

Dont bother with a lawyer. You will not get anything (above and beyond the mini tort settlement $500) for a settlement unless you have collision coverage. Glad you are ok!
