2" bore, 8" stroke (1x3.14x8)
25.12 in^3 to extend

2" bore, 1 1/8" rod dia
((2-1.125)/2)x3.14x8=10.99
10.99 in^3 to retract.

1/2 turn difference my ass

So would the center of the wheel rotation shift as you turn to lock in the push stroke to return it to center the other way? Couldn't you technically run out of steering at that rate? I haven't researched that much about steering valves...

shouldn't you divide that by two since you are effectively using the midpoint of your stroke as tires pointing straight?

I have a touch more then that into mine. And that's adding the steering column, wheel, and cooler on top of what you listed.

Since they list the orbital valve and cuin/rev rating on their website the only real difference in cost I see is $100 for the TSC cylinder vs $330 for their DE cylinder and 1 set of hiems for the difference in Tie rod configuration.

Not that I've been looking at all

http://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraul...CYL-9-6845.axd
This cylinder cuts it to $87 plus $40 for 7/8 x 3/4-16 rod ends with jam nuts.

I was curious as to the actual difference in my steering so i checked tonight....~3.3 one way and ~2.75 the other....until i actually set there and counted tonight i had never even noticed the difference.

I wouldn't call these type steering setups shit. Are you going to go race koh with it? No....Does it work great for recreational wheeling? Hell yes. I have for sure less than 500$ in mine. Stock pump, fabric hose with reusable ends so it can be assembled and repaired on the trail no problem, tabs made from scrap steel, ect and it all works very well.

I have some super sweet double ended tie rod type cylinders on my hoopty, If you can figure out where the hell they came from, they could be a cheaper option.

2 things, I didn't say it was a shit setup, I said "if he's wrong on the orbital again he'll have spent more than the PSC double ended system to have shit steering"(7 turns of the wheel to turn one way is shit.)

How is your orbital 7.6 in^3/rev one way and 3.99 in^3/rev the other direction(3.3 and 2.75)? Cylinder volume is easy to calculate, volume minus the rod is the volume the other way and your steering doesn't make sense to me if it's a closed system.

How is your orbital 7.9 in^3/rev one way and 3.99 in^3/rev the other direction(3.3 and 2.75)? Cylinder volume is easy to calculate, volume minus the rod is the volume the other way and your steering doesn't make sense to me if it's a closed system.
I know what your saying....and i don't have an answer....all i can do is is count turns and that is what it comes out to lol

How did you get 7.9? It is 7.6 rated and (3.14x1x8) / 7.6 = 3.3

I know its not a big difference just curious

If the line were empty, that would be true, but both lines are full therefore length is negligible.
