Default Miguel Cabrera had a gun, two shots fired at his house?

Somebody who happened to be at his house told a group of us last night that he had fired two rounds into the ceiling of his living room in the argument, and that is why the cops were called. I guess you can't drop a couple rounds in Birmingham and not have the cops come.

Anyway, if this is true, wouldn't this be in the police reports? Can the police leave out info like this?

He lives at the townsend hotel?

All the reports I read stated he "returned home"

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was taken to a police station over the weekend after getting into a fight with his wife at their suburban Detroit home.

I'm guessing he doesn't stay at hotels that are 3 miles from his home.

I doubt shots were fired.
...If shots had been fired he would have been arrested on one weapons charge or the other.

all reports say a physical altercation between the couple resulted in injury to both parties,
and no arrests were made due to the fact that officers couldn't figure out who started the fight.
At first the officers couldn't even figure out what they(the Cabrera's)
were saying
"Because police had difficulty understanding the Cabrera's, who were speaking Spanish, they contacted
a Michigan State Police dispatcher who translated."

some reports say a broken cell phone and Miguel's broken gold chain were found at the scene.
Most reports say he was shit faced and blew a .26 (Breathalyzer).

To sum it up...
Guy comes home shit faced and is loud like all drunks are, wakes wife and kid up, wife is pissed and attacks...
guy defends and slaps the silly bitch, which pisses her off even more so she calls the cops.

guy defends and slaps the silly bitch, then fires two rounds into the ceiling, which makes noise, and the neighbors called the cops.

"Birmingham police received a 9-1-1 call at 6 a.m. from Roseangel Cabrera, Miguel's wife."

94.7 played the 911 tape this morning. The wife was asked repeatedly if there was a gun, she said no.

He returned home after drinking with friends and got into and argument with his wife.

There also was a news conference with the Police Chief. He did not name the hotel, but stories indicate it was the Townsend. He aslo stated that both people were aggressors.

He was probably still drunk when he took the field. Breathalyzer supposedly showed .29 or somewhere there abouts, when the cops administered it. Then he went 0-4 in probably the most important game of the year.

Isn't he like the 5th highest player? Makes about $20M a year?

Way to go lame ass

asshole should be dumped by the tigers. Big time hitter leaves 6 runners on base in a game that could have clinched the division. So much for being a team player.

Would you get rid of one of your employees if he knocked around his wife one day, and didn't perform well at work the following day?

If an employee came to work and because of what his actions were in his personal life blew a big opportunity for the company and potentially cost the company money then yeah, he would be fired.

If this happened months ago on any 'normal' day then it would probably be overlooked. Too much was at stake on that game.

x2 Bingo.

We had a major presentation going on a couple years back. A young engineer was late for a plane we had chartered. The basic comment from the owner was "if we lose this deal because of him, he's done".

I have days that I go to bed especially early and set 2 alarm clocks so I don't miss something important. I also rarely drink more that one drink when out with customers because of the risks involved.

It's called responsibility and integrity.

Baseball is a sport that you are ranked on averages over a long term. Just as the Tigers suck it many times when they need to do well, players often are the same way. You can't base your opinion on how good a player is off of one performance. Now if they have a slump in performance that can not be rectified, or constantly choke under pressure, that is another story.

Also, none of us know how often these players get blasted and play the next day half drunk. For all we know that is a daily occurrence.
