Ya it just don't feel like a real jeep it feels like a SUV I want a jeep I can take the top off(without a sawzall) and it just seems that wranglers and those type of jeeps can fit in smaller places and have less shit to break off and a whole lot stronger.

I wheel on sundays the rest of the time I'm at my shop 3 blocks away. I've never owned a wrangler but I think they look a little stronger and better. But thats just my opinion.

All damage done on nut check this week.

Hate to tell you, but XJs actually have stronger front and rear axles than most Wranglers. The 4.0 is bulletproof, the AW4 is good, and the transfer case is usually the same between the two.

save your self some hassel and scrap those slotted rotors. you arent racing that you prolly dont even build up enough gasses for the need of slotted rotors and all your are doing when you go out wheeling is packing them full of mud and creating squeeks and vibrations

Hate to tell you, but they both have D30 fronts and D35 rears with a factory upgrade available in the rear. I own and wheel both, I'll take a Jeep with a frame any day.

x2, well kinda. Some XJ's had a 35 but most if not all had a HPD30. I thought that YJ's did not have a factory upgrade available from the factory?

Don't get me wrong, I like Wranglers, and wouldn't mind owning one. But, I don't think they are any stronger than XJ's.

There are YJ's out there with a factory D44, I've seen one myself. And they all came with a HP D30 as well....And a frame. You can swap a rear axle assy pretty easy, hard to put a frame under an XJ.
