Default 06 F-350 won't move

Hey guys heres the story. I am in Iraq so bear with me. My wife was driving my 06 1 ton yesturday, stopped at her friends house, got back in the truck and she said "It felt like the brakes were locked". She said it would move a little, and "acted" like it wanted to move. I am not there so no i haven't checked anything. She said the tranny fluid looked good. I can not confirm this. Any ideas. The thing has a warranty, that i bought when i purchased the truck, so I am not worried about the cost. I am just a little curious if this sounds common to anybody??

Is it an auto that won't go into gear? I've seen the fuses blow for the rear brake lights because of a short in the trailer harness that won't let the brake safety switch kick in to allow it out of park.

I should have been more specific CC.

The wife said "It will go a little in reverse" whatever that means. Its a automatic. Since she said it will go in reverse i am assuming that the tranny will come out of park. Now, since it will only go in reverse that made me think of a couple things.

A: Could be the e-brake (since it holds better in forward than reverse): But she would know if she set the e-brake, 1 tons let you knwo when you are trying to set the e-brake.

B: Could be a tranny issue, because they do wierdness when they go out.

could be possible that the e-brake has seized in the applied position. idk if it has drums or discs out back but i have seen rear drums seize in the applied position causing the wheel to lock solid

If its 4x4 have her put in and see if it makes a differeence.

I'm guessing you have a trans failure. It might only be the valve body, but it could easily be a stuck band.

The brake is prolly stuck , try it in 4x4 low see what happens. The trans could not have a stuck band it is almost new.

it may be very unlikely but never rule anything out because its a new part or the truck isn't very old. weird shit happens all the time.

yeah bones must be wrong its not like he works on these everyday may or may not be but im sure he has seen newer trucks with less miles with that failure otherwise he would have not brought it up.

True the truck isn't old, but it does have 122000 miles on it.

Iam not ruling anythign out yet. I am deployed so its hard to answer some of your questions. My wife is not the most mechanical person so i say things like "does it hesitate" or "does it feel like the trans is slipping" and she goes, "huh".

But what i said earlier is what i know, it will reverse, but struggles going forward. I will have her try it in 4 low. See if that makes any difference. I don't think the brakes are stuk or anything, and the brakes looked goot when i bought the truck 3 months ago.

I will post anythign new that i find out. she is going to take it in tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys, If you think of anything new for me to have her try jsut let mw know.

yea, My wife moved back to NC from MI about 3 weeks ago. I know someone would be more than willing to go look at it, If it was close.

At least the truck made the trip while totein the boat before it shit on itself huh

Update for those who care :

Passenger pads got so bad one fell the fukc out.

caliper got ground so damn thin it started pissing fluid all on itself.

That is the reason the truck wouldn't move. I am simply astonished at how the wife didn't notice a fucking brake pad missing. Or the fact that brake fluid was pissing on the tire. Please excuse me while i go punch myself in the face.

What can you do? just shake your head...
