Default Silver Lake & All Other State Functions

My neighbor has informed that the DNR has already started to pack up in Silver Lake Dunes. The park will be closed by the end of Wednesday due to budget shortfalls. They don't know how long it will be closed for or if it will be closed the rest of the year. This is the same at all state parks. Just thought I should put this out there for everyone. If you are heading out this weekend you may want to verify the parks are still open.

No. That is not true. The COMPLETE STATE GOVERNMENT is about to shut down.

I hope this makes granholm that laughing-stock of the country! This will hopefully make certain that a republican governor will be in next election.

So it is all true. Unless they settle on a budget or budget extension all the parks will be shut down for a while.

I was just saying that its not just SL, it is the complete government.

If you remember two years ago, granholm and her posse waited it out for a shut down, and I believe the state actually shut down for 6-7 hours, then she dealed with the .

Wat? The state park is my only easy access to lake erie with my kayak. I hope I dont have to put-in in the shitty river, or carry the damn thing a 1/4 mile through the woods from the road.

Just remember, this may or may not happen. It all depends on what happens with the state budget.

I think its safe to say that were screwed on both sides of the table... This is a combined cluster hump.

"Republicans want Democratic lawmakers to propose and pass tax increases, giving the GOP possible fodder to use against Democrats in next year's elections. Democrats hope to get a leg up by painting GOP lawmakers as willing to hurt children rather than reinstate estate taxes on the rich."

Any way you look at it, I'm keeping my butt taped shut.

Maybe this thread should have been started in the political area instead.

Nahhhh it's all good. It has to do with a major wheeling destination in MI. I wouldn't be offended if it was in both sections.
