Default The diesel shutter

My 04.5 GMC has a shutter, miss of some sort or slipping at about 55mph light load. The powertrain is a Duramax LLy backed by an Allison trans with 75,000 miles on the truck. If I tip into the pedal it will stop shuttering and when I back out of the pedal it will start to do it again. It is an intermittent problem. The last time this happened was about a month ago and it only happens when I'm on 59 heading west in the morning.

Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Mine kind of pulses every now and then. it's like an out of balance tire but a lot slower. I almost think it's related to drivetrain wind up and the compliance in all the rubber bushings. It's done it since it was new but it has gotten worse. If you ever figure out what it is I'd be interested in knowing what is causing it.

Does it do it in tow/haul? do you have a stock trans and converter? it could be your converter clutch slipping when the line pressure is low? I havent looked at the schematic for the allison in a long time so I'm not sure what happens to the line pressure at the converter in different conditions but I'm just guessing.

ask around on thedieselplace.com I'm sure those guys have everything nailed down by now.

Very possible about the converter it only does it in over drive. The trans is stock.

No check engine light. Even when the EGR sticks no light comes on.

My 06 2500 with the lbz did the same thing from the factory. Told the dealer about it, There was a bulliton on this and they reflashed the ecm and the shudder was gone. The transmission would not downshift out of sixth right away. Felt like a manual trans in a too high of a gear. Your 5 speed allison might be a little different, But sounds like the same problem. Just my 2 cents
