Question Hushpower II or a 50 series?

I'm sick of how boomy the 40 series is inside my XJ.

Who runs these and what do you think of them in comparison to what I have?

The hushpower sounds a bit glass-packy to me, like a DynoMax, which I've run, and didn't particularly care for (boomy like the 40 series). The case of the hushpower is probably what would be the selling point for me not so much the tone.

The 50 series seems to have a really nice sound, but I'd like to know how the interior sound levels are. Also, I'm torn between a 50 series SUV and a Delta Flow 50 series.

Any help is appreciated, and just for the record I'm running 2.25" pipe, no cat.

50 series. I have heard them on XJ's and they sound nice IMO.

I did for a while, until it got mangled at the Mounds. Now its just a foot of pipe and turndown right before the axle. It really didn't seem to make it any louder at the time, but regardless I'll be getting another tailpipe section soon.

Any time you run just a turndown it's going to be unbarebly loud in there with anything except a quiet muffler. The sound resonates off the floor back there and rattles your fillings out.
I'd get a tailpipe on there and do the 50. That won't be annoying in the cab and sound nice behind you.

straight off the headers 2.5" dualflowmaster 50 series, no cats and duals out the back..sounds wicked. The 50 series is my favorite flowmaster muffler...$110 each at Mazza's , cost more than most mufflers.

Sounds just like a 40 series muffler only less cab noise and better muffler all around.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 50 series flowmaster with a pipe all the way back and I'm sick of the nascar noise

I'm really interested in a hushpower, as I no longer care if people know I have a v8 in the yj.

With the 360 in my YJ i'm running 2.25" off the manifolds to 2.5" where they go into a Converter. From there it's 2.5" out the back to a SuperTrapp Disc only muffler.

Nice and quiet, and great low end torque.
