Default '98 S10 Blazer rear axles?

My sisters truck had a problem with the pinion in the rear end coming loose. The first time didnt do any damage. But I put it back together with new stuff p on the pinion. But it still decided to spit a few gear teeth and now its pretty much destroyed. She said everything was fine until she heard somethng start crackling and then the rear locked up. Which she's lucky she was on a grated dirt road and only doing 30.

But she has the disk brake rear, and I cant find them for under $300. Which she cant afford right now. So I was curious if a drum brake rear would interchange without major problems? Like, is there a difference in brake line pressures betweeen the two? Anything of that nature.

i have an axle from a 93 with drum brakes with 3.42 gears. all you would need to do is take off all of your brake components and swap them onto the new axle. only asking $150 for it.
