Default Rustys XJ Cage?

Is the roll bar rustys sells for the xj even worth while? It looks like just a single hoop. Has anyone ever bought this? I would like a basic cage just looking for ideas at this point

for a couple hundred more you could just have JCR build a nice cage.

It would be more then a "couple" more. XJ cages are not easy and are not cheap!

Right, but would you charge 200 plus shipping for a single hoop?

The kit you posted looks like a much better kit if you have access to a welder.

yeah its definitely not a bolt in kit. there is a bolt in cage for the XJ out there, cant think of the company right now. JP magazine did a review on it a few years back.

D & C kit looks decent, but 1.5" HREW tubing is questionable

Your going to have a hard time fitting 1.75" tube on the inside of an XJ and still manage to have ANY room to move around. 1.5" tubing is perfect for the inside of an XJ.

I dunno....we don't offer something like that. But it's worth what ppl are willing to pay for it and no one else is really offering anything in the range.

Do they have full interiors in Jeepspeed? Do they worry about comfort in Jeepspeed?

smartest comment of the day award goes to you

dumbass

big difference in a race truck and trail rig as far as comfort and where tubes would be placed

easy buddy-- sure there's a big difference in a race truck vs a trail rig, but if you plan out where the tubes are going to go, a quarter inch difference in tube diameter isn't going to make a cage comfortable or obnoxious.

The full interior debate can be beat to death, that's fine. I'm aware of different bend radii for different size tubing. I'm also aware that for a shop charging to install a cage, the difference in time is substantial getting 1 3/4 tubing tucked into the interior vs. 1 1/2", and most people wouldn't want to pay extra for that in a trail rig.

Let's look at the pics though-- so we can see just how much of a dumbass I really am.

So you guys are telling me that an increase in tube diameter of 1/4" would make this cage unusable for a trail rig?

I think the a-pillar hitting you in the knee every time you get in and out would piss me off.

Still not seeing where an extra 1/4" would make this cage obnoxious.
