Default 02 trailblazer 4wd ?

the 4wd won't engage on my wifes trailblazer, the lights above the dial aren't on either, besides the obvious checking the fuses, whatelse should I look at? I'm not real familiar with the 4wd on the tb, everything has worked before so there wasn't any need to work on it, other than routine maintenance.

If I had to take an educated guess I would say maybe the T-case motor is shot/froze...common problem because people don't engage the T-case except in the winter then it goes a year without moving and they get stuck. I always put all my trucks in 4x4 at least once a week to make sure everything is working good and keep the T-case shifting freely. If the fuse is bad it could be because the motor is stuck or bad, but for sure check the fuse first and you may get lucky. Another problem is the switch but I think if they go bad the light will blink. Long story short the switch, T-case motor, fuse are your 3 main culprits.

Pull the underhood fuse(s) for the TCCM (transfer case control module) for 30 seconds (could also be labeled ATCM or TREC) and reinstall then try it. They had issues "waking up" from sleep mode. If that fixes it it needs a new TCCM and a reprogram to keep it from happining again.

I'm guessing it's the motor, I pulled the fuse, waited, put it back in, now the indicator lights turn on, but when I turn the switch all of the lights turn on, then turn off and the service 4wd light turns on in the cluster.

I would go get it scanned then and see what code it is actually pulling if it DTC B2725. there is another tsb on it to replace the transfer case shift control switch

I sold them for years. It's a pretty common problem they have. It's usually the motor.

You might just want to check the switch. GM full sizes are notorious for having the selector switch go bad.

i have a 4x4 trailblazer. i would suggest checking out www.trailvoy.com they have EVERYTHING you could need to know about them. if you cant find a thread on it(which is doubtful) make one in the proper subforum and im sure it will get some good hits as there is 20,000 some odd members

thanks for all the input, it turned out to be the switch in the dash, very easy fix.
