Default How not to get a job.

I went to an open interview today for a reginal truck driving job. I was appalled at the number of applicants that didn't even take the time to comb their hair, tuck their shirt in, take their hat off, shave, or even have clean clothes on.

Are these the same people that bitch that nobody will hire them? I guess I'm just old fashioned.

Yes, they are the same asshats that cry about not being hired.

I don't care if you are interviewing at Burger King, dress up alittle.

I don't think I'm going to get the job because I don't have the OTR experience they are looking for. I thought I would at least throw my hat in the ring and let them tell me no.

I still am at awe as to the parade of douchbags that filed through the door.

If you're going to interview for a factory or shop type jobs no need to wear a 3 piece suit, but at least throw on some pants and a casual collared shirt.
After I was hired at one shop, the owner told me I was the only applicant that was dressed for an interview, he said one guy had a big ass hunting knife hanging from his belt.

Good luck on the job!

I owned a repair shop at one time. It was almost comical the way people would come in looking for work. It's a shame that I had been working on cars all day and I was cleaner than the guys coming in looking for a job.

At least you are trying Nuggets, I applaud you for that. Unlike the idiots that stand at every offramp in GR with a sign that says "Homeless and Hungry" begging for stuff from everyone that gets off the highway.

Isn't it true that in order to keep your unemployment benefits you have to go on job interviews? They probably just want to do the interview, not get hired and keep getting their free money

I've actually walked into an interview (literally walked in off the street) and was thanked for not looking like absolute trash and making a good first impression.
