Question 6.0L throttle body swap

I have a LQ4 6.0L out of an '07 Hummer that I am going to put into my jeep. Just wondering if anyone knows if I can replace the drive by wire throttle body with and older cable throttle body? Will the older cable TB mount up to my intake? I know the PCM will have to be reporgrammed or replaced. I have a 700r4r that is already built and would like to use that versus getting another trans (4L60) that is the reason for wanting to switch back to cable TB.
Thanks,
N8

normally they run 4l80E's behind the 6.0, and yes you can swap the TB

sometimes, not "normally" it's probably a 50/50 split... HD trucks get the 80 and everything else gets the 60 or a variation of it, 65/70.

so your only reason for wanting to switch is because you think you cant run a DBW setup with an older trans? people do it all the time... if you even get a creative enough tuner you can have a switch for a nice mild throttle progression for a smooth low range or you can get a "normal" feeling throttle body for more response.

you can switch it if you have the smaller TB, if you have an 88mm or so TB then you are stuck with the aftermarket UMI type which is big money. If you have a 3 bolt and 78mm or so TB then you can swap it pretty easily.

I dont see a need to swap it.

Would the drive by wire setup allow a normal TV cable connection for the 700R4?

If you get creative like whiterhino did and hook it to the accelerator pedal itself then yes it will.

Thanks for the info. I know anything is possible, but I am trying to go the easiest route. I think switching back to cable is going to be easiest overall. It's a 3 bolt so I think one off an '03 or earlier truck will work.
