Default Did someone just try stealing my truck?

OK, go up to Meijer tonight about 11 to get a few things. As I'm parking, this white Suburban pulls up with two guys in it. One of them is yelling out the window at me, they both seem overly excited. They start talking about how they were supposed to be installing some stereo equipment, start asking me if I have a nice TV and stereo. The one guy (driver) gets out, comes over to the truck and tells me about how he has all the stuff in the back of the rig, wants me to get out and go take a look at it. I tell him I'm not interested, the whole time thinking this just seems pretty fucking weird. He goes on and on a little bit, showing me some invoice saying they can't take the stuff back or whatever. So I tell him a couple times more I'm not interested. He is actually looking kind of pissed now. He stomps off like a three year old, bitching about how I won't even get out to look at the stuff, "I'm just going to go give it to someone else, then". At this point there was no way in hell I was getting out of the truck until they drove off and were out of sight.

Am I just paranoid, or does it seem weird that two dudes would come up to a total stranger in a Meijer lot at 11 o'clock and try to give him "thousands" of dollars of equipment? I wish I would have taken his plate number.

Probably not trying to steal your truck. I have been approached by these clowns many times. Just avoid them.

I had a guy in a white van ask if I wanted to buy a home theater real cheap a long time ago. I was walking out of a Blockbuster, just about to unlock my truck.

I told him No thanks, and continued to get into my truck. He just shrugged and drove off though.

So its like when someone tries to sell you a real high priced vacuum, while spouting off technical sounding jargon?

I know ppl who do this, there are tons of people all over the country that do this, in all types of vechicles, they buy imported expensive looking speakers with fake price tags that say msrp is $1999 they pay about $30-$50 per set and talk people into up to $500 or as low as breaking even on them, the guy i know that does this makes 100k plus a year cash doing it... not that i think it's right or not that i would ever do it, but there is money in it, (alot of ignorant ppl out there) lol
