if you have a short arm you should have control arm drops which are also good
but long arm kit gives a better ride quality

Most of the time at my friends house in Orion. He has a swamp and some trails. But another friend lives about 5 miles from the mounds so I'll probably be there quite a bit as well

Okay this is kinda gonna turn into a build thread now. the jeep looks a lot different now so i figured id update this

New tires about 2 months ago.

Got a sway bar to put on from this jeep.....

This is whats going in next..rustys over the knuckle kit, relocating the rear shock mounts on the axle, 4.56 gears and i have a hp 30 to truss and put in

I'll try to keep this updated as it progresses

Rear gears are done. The Chrysler 8.25 is such a pain! Had to make a tool to set the preload on the carrier bearings.
Or we could have bought this one for $65

The new straight HP30 as it sits now in the process of being torn down. (Ran out of motivation about the time the shop heater ran out of oil)

Sounds like your pain was not doing the research prior to starting the job.

Because 8.25's are easy to do.

Some progress finally. The shop is in Metamora and between work and school I only can get in a few hours of work a week.

Used the plasma to cut off all mounts except coil buckets and upper link mounts. Ready for sandblasting.

It looks nice but there's nothing I hate more than sand blasting.

Gonna get some more work in today hopefully getting the LCA, trac bar and sway bar mounts welded on, gusseting the inner Cs, and plating to strengthen the coil buckets. Oh and installing the ball joints.

Thank you, kind sir.

Got some more done today. Welded on the HD LCA mounts, installed balljoints, got started on my trac bar mount and gusseted the Cs for more strength. There wasn't really a great way to do it with the coils in the way but this is what we came up with. It should help.

As it sits now. I just gotta plate the coil buckets and the front of the passenger side UCA mount and I'll be happy with it. Then paint it and bolt it under the jeep to finish the trac bar mount and make sure the swaybar mounts will clear the OTK steering.

Got a good amount of work done yesterday.
I put my tierod on to check for clearance. This is OTK but it would limit the turning by hitting the coil mounts and I wouldn't have room to run sway bar links so it will go under the knuckle with the drag link going on top of the knuckle.

This is all painted with the truss and gussets done. It came out better than I expected and for being my first 'fab' work I'm proud of it.

If all goes as planned it should be going in my jeep saturday
I'm also gonna make some skids for the LCAs real quick before it goes in.
