Default I solved the Healtcare issue

Adults are on their own. There is no reason 1 adult should have to pay for another's wants or needs.

This is very simple. Nobody is going to pay for my house or car. They are needs.

Now I do think we needs to have something so kids are covered. A 12 year old can not help if his/her parent is a piece of crap and has not planned to cover them.

What about this?

Quote:
The primary reason given for raising the federal taxes on tobacco products is for expanding low-income children's health insurance.
So are you saying they want to raise taxes for kids insurance and try to pass this B.S. health care plan? Isn't that a little like double dipping?

Quote:
it was noted that Michigan's Governor Granholm also wants to double the Michigan state tax on all tobacco products
WTF??

Quote:
In Michigan, the folks that roll their own will be getting hit the hardest. With the combined Federal and state tax, the average price of popular rolling tobacco will go up from about $20 per one pound bag to $70 per bag.
Makes sense now. What a bunch of crooks. How about instead of ripping us off every time they Fvck up they give back some of that raise they got a few years back? Maybe we could cut some government employees.

I can think of 2 off the top of my head.

I second that... they mess up and its on us somehow? how does that even work. So if I go shoot someone can we send them to prison?

MIChild is a health insurance program. It is for uninsured children of Michigan's working families. MIChild services are provided by many HMOs and other health care plans throughout Michigan.

Sorry to say but that is a very poor way to look at your future. What do you do when your liver needs to be cut out because of liver disease from alcohol poisoning? Or you can't remember where you live because the pot burned you out? You will be a burden to society and the government will let you die, with no health care, or they help you and the rest of us pay for your poor choices.

For not being able to get health insurance if you are poor my stupid cousin got knocked up during a one night stand and the state is giving her the same level of maternity care as my friend who has bcbs.
What ever happened to personal responsibility? If you had to be responsible I can guarantee stuff like what she did would decrease significantly.

I'm all for personal health care responsibility. Problem is when an x-ray costs $1,500 that is hard to swallow.
I pay for major medical for the wife and I out of pocket.

I agree that personal responsibility is a good thing and that it sucks that we have to pay for other peoples mistakes, but I really doubt that when people are indiscriminately hooking up they are thinking, "I'm not worried about getting pregnant because I know the state will take care of me."

Problem is they are NOT thinking about it. I had a hard time totally enjoying banging when I was younger because even though I was being safe, there was still a slim chance I could have made a baby and fucked up my life.

Sometimes it blows to think about the consequences of your actions.

Exactly! If people were responsible for themselves, grown adults that is, instead of wanting the government to take care of them we would be much better off.

So why keep aiding them by not letting them have the consequences that go with their actions? If we continue to bail them out their behavior will never change. Be it the big banks or some dumb ass at the bar.
