Default 1998 Sonoma push button to manual T-case

I just bought a 1998 Sonoma which has a steel bar that comes up through the floor as the 4x4 shifter because the push button was having issues. I would really like to swap out the center console for a manual 4x4 console. I'm just wondering if anyone here has done this and how difficult it is.

Been done a ton of times.

I DONT belive the manual 231 shit will bolt up to a 233. But you can make your own lever that looks better, or swap in a 231.

Search at s10forum.com and zr2usa.com

The only thing with that is that I haven't checked to see what's up with the center axle disconnect. I don't know if it still works off of rear tire slip or if he's got it locked. Do you know if it's ok to keep the front locked?
