Default kings??

Anyone been fishing for Kings yet this year? Im going to the cabin in Newaygo this weekend and thinking about going out in the big lake to try and get some kings. Ive heard they are starting to come in now. Woundering if anyones gone, if so where did you go, how did you do and what were you catching them on?

Thanks

There's are quite a few in the Big Manistee. I didn't try for them, but talked to some guides who said they were doing well slow drifting right through the hole and casting plugs downstream and along the shoreline. They said they caught a bunch of smallies too. They're picking up in Traverse Bay.

I've been hearing rumors of a new state record fish being taken out of Manistee here in the last couple weeks or so. It's a brown that weighed in at 41lbs 7 ounces, 43.75 inches long. There's a picture too as soon as I figure how to copy it and put it up here.
