Paddlers....I have a question.

Im looking at buying a Aquaterra Scimitar in a few days, and am curious about a option the manufacturer says it has. In the list of features in the old (1995) catalogue, it mentions this kayak has an "Integral Paddle Rescue System".

Im assuming it has something to do with this odd bit of molding into the hull behind the cockpit.

My guess is that you can wedge your paddle into the grooves and pull yourself up from the rear. But its just a guess. Im not new to paddling, but this will be my first full size kayak Ive owned (I rent a lot). Ive just never heard of this option before.

If anyone cares its a 15.5' plastic hull. Im going to take it out for a "test paddle" on wednesday. Hopefully it will be the deal Im hoping it will be (the guy is asking $495).
