i think you need to research a bit before you come postng stuiped questions like that. theres no fab work involved to install a posi unit.

I am not sure if the second gen body style has the same axles as your truck but if they do you could use the rear end out of a ZR2 S10 or a Bravada, Jimmy, Blazer with the G80 locker. Just make sure gear ratios are the same. I think all ZR2's came with a locking rear diff and the other 3 just look in the Glove box for the RPO codes and if you find the code G80 on the sticker it came equipped with the G80 locker.

I dont know if the G80 locker was an option on the first gen S10's (MAYBE) but I do know it does not matter if they had a stick or not because I owned an 88 stick and it was open diff.

Yep it's shot...you cant buy a rebuild kit for it either, what kind of shit is that? Basically when they go it's off to the junk yard to replace it! Oh by the way they will not engage if your wheels are spinning more than 20mph so I have been told.

Ditto...you could probably get a whole axle with gov lock from a junk yard for $50 to $100. As far as your front goes I dont know if you could get a POSI for it...when I had my S10's I was going to do the same thing, I was going to install a lunch box locker but it will make it handle and steer funny even in 2wd because the drivers side axle will always be engaged due to the fact that you dont have manual lockout hubs. A limited slip might work better but if I remember right for some reason you could not use a 10bolt limited slip in the front of S10's for some odd reason...I could be wrong though, I just gave up on that project and bought my Suburban. I have owned many S10's in my life though and with a locker in the back and just an open front with 30x9.5 15 mud tires they are very capable of going just about anywhere!!!
