Maybe you can ride my 300EXC and ruin your perception of what a fun bike is.

Probably about the same, with what we've done to each...

why would you guys want to ruin my fun already? ;)

I have a question of legality. I live in town in Gladwin. If you head east out of town on M61 there is a trail system of "fire roads" that is ORV legal.

According to this:

http://www.gladwinco.com/Postings/ORVOrdinance.pdf

Can I drive the bike from my house to the trails as long as I go 25 MPH and stay to the right? Or are the municipality of Gladwin's road's still sketchy?

Section 3 says :

This Ordinance is not intended to authorize the
operation of an ORV on a street or highway which is under the
jurisdiction of a municipality, nor upon a State trunkline
highway.

Should I call up the police and ask?

Yes. Call. And write down the name of who told you it was legal (if they do). Don't forget your ORV sticker and enjoy!

I was in the Gladwin/Secord Lake area all weekend. The way that I understand most of the counties rules so far is that county roads are legal but Michigan state roads, and Interstates are off limits. 61 is M61 right ? Who as the VV maps to check somene mentioned that guy has all of the legal routes mapped out.

I haven't called yet, but I'm going to go ahead and begin a street legal kit. I ordered the Baja Design Headlight/Taillight Kit. I bought a bicycle mirror and horn and have those mounted up already. I really like this bike, don't let me ride anything else, I enjoy being in denial ;)

Here is the map of what is, and what isn't open in Gladwin County for ORV's...

http://www.gladwinco.com/Postings/OR...ion8-11-09.pdf

They have more detailed ones of the cities here...

http://www.gladwinco.com/

Just click on the "ORV ordinance" tab on the bottom left. I'm going to print off and carry a copy of the map any time I ride in Gladwin County (which is where my parents cabin is) just in case I get stopped or hassled.

Sweet! thanks for the info. Technically, right now I would have to walk the bike about 5 blocks to get to an ORV legal road, but that's good enough for me. thanks for the info.
