my take of Bundy Hill... with pics from Saturday 9-5-2009

Wow... this place ROCKS!

I am basically a newbie with a fairly lame rig, but found this place to have a nice array of simple to advanced stuff.

I went all day Saturday. I found myself redoing a lot of stuff, but I am a sissy and only felt comfortable with certain areas.

However, after looking at Google Maps, I think I missed a few areas -- a map or better signs would be nice maybe. I guess I will just have to keep going and going to find more and more stuff to do.

I live a few miles away, so I hope this place stays open for years to come!

SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Right now, everything can be ran in a day with a locked jeep on 33's. It's still a good place to wheel, especially if you have a lot of wheel speed for the loose climbs. Someone from the park said the rock crawl is going to get much larger. Here's a couple good pics from some obstacles.

At the end of the day, a stock XJ followed me around for a while. He completed chicken hill, the body took a couple good hits though.

I would not say a jeep on 33's can go anywhere. It will all depend on what you are willing to try. A jeep on 33 is not going to try alot of the harder stuff and get body damage like that washout that Nate is in.

I seen a few rigs on 33's complete the marked trails without problems. The smallest tires I seen complete the rock crawl were 35's. Rocker guards are a must in that course and in several spots in the park. I cleaned the paint off my drivers side rocker guard in a similar washout that buggy is in. The park has those washouts everywhere and they are a blast to get in.

I just dont want people to think this is only a park for 33 tire guys. There is only one marked trail at this point. That is the cool thing about this park is that you can make a trail almost anywhere you want too. It can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. I know there are things out there I cant do and I am on 40's

They had areas that we're roped off where there was equipment or hazards but the rest of it was wide open. I went places no cherokee has gone before thats for sure!!! Made a couple trails too.

Just got back from Bundy Hill... Had a great time and this place has a ton of potential. I was on 33's locked in the rear and I could do most things but there were definately some things I would have never tried because there would have been a lot of body damage. Definately something to do for all size rigs.
