Default 89 chevy truck motor

i have a buddy that plans to scrap a 89 chevy 2 wheel drive truck with a 5.7 tbi motor. i plan to pull the motor and all the stuff out i need to put it into a jeep someday. what all do i need to remove from the truck to make in a jeep and wheres it located.

i believe the computer unit is behind the glove box liner. feel free to come over and look my 91 over. should be the same.

you'll need the engine, all of the wiring harness including everything that goes inside the cab, computer, you'll also need the speed sensor off the back of the transmission, it's also a good idea to take the fuel pump and sending unit.

just buy the truck from him for scrap price and keep it till your ready to do the swap its way easier to keep track of all the crap that way

ya know, that's not a bad idea if you can afford it. that way, you might be able to use some parts you didn't know you were going to need

or, you could scrap the truck afterwards, and make that money yourself!

im more then capeable of pulling everything out and knowing what i need. i wanted to make sure.ive done plenty of builds like this and i will do the jeep build as its the wifes jeep. so until you know me or what im talking about stfu

well im sorry for assuming you didnt know what you were doing it just seemed like a kind of rookie question to me....the main point is that you make sure you get everything right down to the stupid relays and fuse block.....sometimes its something really retardedly stupid the screws you on a swap like that. i spent 3 months one time just lookin for a stupid plugin to finish a swap involveing an amc eagle.

the trans is a 700r4 i beleive. no 3rd gear. make offer on any parts.
