We have not figured out the price just yet. First of next week. We are planning to offer these three ways: 1.) No lights 2.) With Incandescent 3.) With LED's.

What about using stop/turn/tail for the red and clear for backup lights? I can source the light converts local. The side markers are tail only I assume. All lights being LED's.

This is the plan. We will have a full write-up on light options for these. There is such a wide range of 4" and 2.5" lights that many have a personal preference for this or that light. I imagine that the bare housings will be the most popular.

The lower light will work well for either the amber turn signal with no XJ harness mods (I imagine halogen reverse lights mounted elsewhere.) But my personal preference would be STT lights on top, with reverse lights on the bottom. A trailer wiring converter will be required on the XJ harness to facilitate all functions on one light.

I never thought they would come out this nice, so if the second gen ones look this at home I'll probably end up with them on the wifes XJ. (If she likes them of course )

Personally I like this setup for lights. Reverse lights are $$ though.

I've also been considering the clear STT that lights up red... but it may be too strange and too much silver.

I attribute this to my re-found love of caffeine, and your re-found love of early mornings

Must be into a slow time, hence all the R&D on new products.

I did a price check on the clear LED's for backups and almost fell out of my chair.

Our slow time is from August-Middle of Oct. We did a good amount of new products in that time frame, but all of our new tooling and machines have really cut back on production times which in return allows us to make new cool stuff!

Going to get DOT approval for those? I had the same setup years ago and got pulled over and warned by the cop. Apparently the lights being DOT approved is not enough to make the entire tail light legal. He could have been giving me a hard time though too. Just a heads up.

Did you have reflectors on your taillights? Probably just giving you a hard time.

Nope, DOT approved round tail lights like the ones pictured.

the NHTSA/DOT does not approve equipment.. they set guidelines manufacturers must meet to be DOT Certified... its a common miss conception..

most likely he was giving you a hard time if you did not have any reflectors to the rear of your vehicle, since trucker style lights do not have reflective housings you would not be legal with out adding some kind of reflective tape or something similar to the rear.
