Automatic tranny questions

So... i have a 96 silverado 1/2 ton with the 5.7 vortec. I have a 10in lift and 37s with the stock 3:73 gears. The gear ratio is fine. I goto silverlake quite a bit and i can do most of the hills in two wheel but the rest i cant because my truck shifts when i dont want it too. Even if i put it in first it will still shift at like 4000 rpms. Well my question is... is there a by-pass or chip or something that will let me use my auto like a manual so when i want it to be in 1st it stays in first?

could try this... http://www.jegs.com/p/B-M/B-M-ShiftP...48074/10002/-1 other option is a programmer with transmission shifting built in such as this one http://www.jegs.com/i/JET/561/15024/10002/-1
