Default Anyone have an 01-06 Chevy 1500 with a Cold Air Intake?

I'm needing to get some dimensions off of a 01-06 chevy truck with a 5.3-6.0L motor with a cold air intake- preferably either an Airaid or Banks intake, but I'll take anything I can get-

I'm looking for the distance at the 90* bend off of the throttle body from the outside edge of the snorkel to the radiator. We're trying figure out how to put an intake snorkel in a FJ-40 with an LS-1, and it's pretty tight between the throttle body and fan.

Thanks in advance!

My dad has an 08 with a K&N full intake. Not sure if that would help

Thanks, but I don't think it will, the underhood packaging on the new body style is different. The last gen trucks may have what I need, I have approximately as much room under the hood of the FJ as an 02 6.0 does. Give or take an inch.

I have production clearance, Trailrig's truck has the stock elbow on it, and its this much too deep at the bend- like 7/8" ish. Thats why I'm wondering if something like this might work. I have the dimensions (sort of) courtesy of Airaid customer service, but I'd like to touch it with my own hands before I order one.

I will check that link though, thanks!

I have this CAI on my trailblazer, it is kind of a tight bend

http://www.ieatsrt8.net/

if you check that link you will probably find what you are looking for... I think it's called the cobra head or something like that.

I think that's gonna be worse- it will eat the PCM, which is going right where the TB would be.

When JeepM715 swapped the 5.3 into his BTF buggy, he used elbows and pieces from http://www.intakehoses.com/

It worked out great. They have been recommended many times on pirate4x4, so you shouldn't have any problems.

The throttle body we have is 4" not 3.5" and the cobra head I want to use is too wide. We'll find something though, and I'm not done rummaging through intakehoses.com quite yet.

his 5.3 is out of an 02 avalanche. It's also 4" if I remember right.

This is similar to what he did. Comes out of the intake into a 90*, then a short piece, and another 90* with the filter back by the valve covers.
