Default $$$ Impact of Tellico closure in local paper

Good link to use when writing letters about possibile trail closures, this is from the local paper regarding the cancellation of events and general $$ impact from Tellico's closure:

http://www.thecherokeescout.com/arti...e839874297.txt

Too bad they didn't get some more hard numbers and used terms like "megabucks" instead, but stil pretty good stuff. Would have been easy to ask hotel/motel owners how many cancellations they had, a couple of restaurants how much they made during these events last year, etc...

Each event brings in 150-200 rigs. Dixie Run is the largest event and brings in between 400-500 rigs. Jeep Jamboree is held primarily in Murphy with most participants staying at motels in town. Slucher believes $10 million-$15 million will be lost to the community yearly.

“Without the leadership of the town and county taking proactive steps to get the roads open, the community is going to continue to miss out,” Slucher said. “This boils down to the Forest Service caving in to one user group over another.”
$10-15 million yearly

Unfortunately, no it doesn't seem that the local government is by the way the article is written.
