I judge you because you seem to think it is OK to walk a strong, aggressive breed dog in public without a leash.

Hell, I don't walk my small dogs without leashes.

BTW, it is a lot easier to stop a small dog attack than a large dog attack. And dogs do attack, I don't care what breed or how they have been raised.

Use some common sense and leash your dog when you are out in public.

I am sure the pit owner whose dog attacked the OP's dog said it wouldn't hurt a fly either.

And P.S. Apparently, Hombre likes Cheerios.

I didnt THREATEN anybody. I made a comparison. Come to my house, on my property, THINK about shooting me or any of my pets, you'll be lucky if all you get is jailtime. Dbag is running around talking about shooting peoples dogs. i dont have kids, my dogs are my kids, so that was my point.

He is a policeman. I am sure he has had to shoot them because he was called to the scene while one was attacking someone. Maybe you should get to know people before flying off the handle and making ignorant posts.

I shot and killed two aggressive pit bulls.........legally. The owners were prosecuted and convicted.

pit bulls go yipe-yipe-yipe when you blow their leg and shoulder off with a 12 gauge shotgun. The owners go "Oh my God! You shot Bingo you fucker! Wah-wah-wah-sob-sob-sob."

WOW a non pit owner who made a sensible post about them??

You're exactly right. I wouldnt walk mine without a leash, because they are a LARGE STRONG BREED and they're designed to bring down game. I FULLY believe that i would never have anything to worry about, but the dog cant tell me exactly what it's thinking, so i'd rather just have him on a leash so he knows whos in charge and doesnt think he's leading the pack.

Sorry to hear about your Lab. It sounds like the lab is going to be fine. I think both parties should take responsibility for the pit bull in the following: If I was you ( owner of the lab ), I would have shot the " pit ". If I was the owner of the " pit ", I would have also shot the " pit". Done deal, harm was done but both parties would be rather relieved at that point in time.

No one should put up with a dog so well known to kill. It is the nature of the beast no matter how well you train them.

he asked if he could come shoot my pit bulls that he's never even seen, just to be a doucherocket. So i gave him something to think about. If ANY of my dogs ever attacked anyone i wouldnt need him to come to the "rescue" and shoot them, i've got my own 12 gauge to deal with it.

I spent the majority of my time working in detroit, on the east side, i've probably seen more agressive pit bulls in a week than most poeple have seen in their life time. I've had occasions that i thought i was going to have to shoot them too, but just because some asshat raised them to be mean doesnt mean i want to go home and shoot mine.

follow me? It's the same thing as saying "i saw this (some minority race) guy on the news that killed some lady for no reason. all of those (minority race) must be like that."

you want to have a general opinion about the dog, fine this is america, you can have whatever opinion you want, and you can very well believe i will show you facts to back up MY opinion, and not be offended how you feel. But dont take a personal shot at someone. My dog is blue ribbon, and clean bred of what a pit bull should be. there has never been one person to meet him that DID not change their opinion on pit bulls, and thats the whole reason i raised him the way i did. They get a bad rap.

aw geeze. thats all. aw geeze.

all dogs nature is to kill they're predators! they hunt in packs.....

AND YES i AM VERY SORRY that your lab got attacked, and the dog that attacked deserves to die if it hasnt. If it was my dog i'd shoot it myself.

My friends chocolate lab tried to kill my german shepherd chow over nothing. a year together with no problems, then she just attacked one day, if my dog had reacted 1/2 second slower she would have taken her throat in one swipe, but she got the front of her leg, 17 stitches. are all chocolate labs unprovoked killers? nope. was she poorly raised? nope. Just the dog. you cant say any dog or any breed is the same as the next unfortunately, you just have to be responsible. I wouldnt put some 16 year old kid behind the wheel of a corvette...it's too much power for his experience. You cant just go out and get one of these dogs with no training experience, it's too much power.

There was a thread not too long ago about a guy's puppy and his girl being attacked by 2 show Pits. So don't cliam that because your dog is blue ribbon that he can't just snap. All dogs can, but with a Pit the aftermath is much worse because it's their instinct to go for the throat and not let go. And the reason they pass all these temperment tests is because they are normally good around people. But as I stated earlier it is in their instinct (even that of a pure, clean bred pit) to kill other animals. That is what they were bred for in the first place. I would love to see these "facts" that show how great Pits are.

there are whole websites and organizations dedicated to positive pitbull press, but the media doesnt like positive news, it doesnt get the same reaction, so it doesnt get shared as often.

I dont claim just because he's blue ribbon he's an angel. He does have a much more intent personality because of that. But he also listens better. He's socialized with people and animals big and small.

FOR CHRIST SAKE PEOPLE MY CAT PICKS FIGHTS WITH MY KILLER PIT BULL AND THE DOG YELPS AND CRAWLS IN MY WIFES LAP AND THE CAT SITS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR WAITING FOR HIM TO GET BACK DOWN SO HE CAN KICK HIS ASS SOME MORE. 100% of pit bulls dont just try to kill all kinds of small animals children and people. Raise one and you'll see it's simple and all in the training. "OH WOW! i want a sweet gaurd dog so im going to train this pit to kill because it's so easy!" thats unfortunately what happens. Mine just warn me someones there and add intimidation factor.

Yes, unfortunately that is the story that owners give in court right before they have talk about when it "went insane" and ate the babies head.

Maybe you should bring your children home some hand grenades too. Those are fun, and save, if the pin stays in

The only people who have pitbulls are people who are trying to look tough with something to prove, think they're a badass, or are more then 11% ninja
