In light of the sunset challenge ....

Thought I'd offer up a tip I learned pretty much by trial and error a number of years ago.

When shooting a portrait w/ the sunset in the background, put a blue filter over your flash (that is balanced to match the exposure of the sunset). When the print is made, the lab will compensate for the blue cast in the skintone by pumping up the red, which in turn, makes the sunset much richer.

I've also learned that not many other places in the world have sunsets like we do in west MI!
