Default New vs Reman

Whats your experience with alternators? I have always had bad luck with Remans. I put a junk yard ALT on my wifes truck to get her by for now and it's charging but the bearings are noisy, so after I fix the fuel pump I am going to replace the alternator as well before winter. I looked at autozone and brand new is only $20 more then a reman or should I stay away from autozone alternators and get one from Napa or the dealer...looking for reliability! I don't care if I can get a reman with a lifetime warranty if I have to change the thing every 6 months and that has been my previous experience with them.

Have your junkyard alternator re-built at a shop.

i hate just about any life time auto part from auto zone
I would rather pay a little more now and not replace it later 6 times

I buy reman. parts Carquest, and would guess that my alt. is one too. It has been 3 years and still no problems. However with Autozone, I only be select items from there like oil, misc little things, have had to many problem with their other stuff.

My favorite AutoZone parts are brake rotors that have a lifetime warranty and wear down faster than the brake pads!
