Default Registration question

Ok I got a boat, got the title, but the trailer came with no title
Do I need one? Is the boat title sufficient?

This is my first time registering a boat or trailer

What do I need? Will they yank me for a new sticker even though the current one is good until 2012?

Thanks

This question should be in the boats, canoes, and rubber ducks forum.

yeah you'll get a new sticker when you transfer the registration and that has a fee but i would wait a while till you had the money to pay for it. Bottom line its registered and legal so i wouldnt worry about it till next spring or something. As far as the trailer registration you can get one from the sos just tell them its an assembled trailer that you made and they'll give you a registration. we have a couple old trailers that dont have titles just registrations

You will need to get it weighted, thats how they base their fee's. Try a scrape yard

Trailer plates are lifetime, cost $75.00 for most boat trailers.

I've got a couple permanent plates I could be persuaded to part with.

You will probably need a bill of sale showing the trailer too. Don't believe you need a new sticker, they didn't make me buy one and the boat reg. says it's good until 2012.
