Default Help, need advise on a JK.

I currently lease a H3, its the first nice truck Ive ever had. The dealership replaces anything I break even with the 35" tires and lift. The battery died and they didnt blame it on the winch or the extra off road lights. They treat me really good. Even when we break a t-case or diff they dont ask questions they just replace it.

I cant afford another one. I just cant get the payment where I need it with this unstable economy and they are not leasing.

So I went to look at 09 Jk's yesterday and holy crap they are the same dam price for the ruby's as a H3. My questions are: can I get the cheaper JK and fit it with front and rear lockers, 4:1 tcase and a budget lift kit later down the road without breaking my bank? Rite now I can get the cheap H3 with a V8 but then it will cost 2000$ for the front locker, 1000$ for the 4:1 tcase and 600$ for the rear locker. Then The lift to fit 37's is around 500$ but I got 1/2 of it purchased already.

Any incite will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

You could probably get a 07 Jeep JK Rubicon(electric lockers front and rear, 4:1 t-case...) 4 door for around 15-20k depending on miles. A 3.5" budget lift will fit 35's.

The short answer: Jeeps are no longer cheap. I picked up my '07 X-package 4-door for $23K with a 3" lift already installed. I checked last week an the '09 X-packages with the same options (but no lift) were going for $27. Holy Crap!

And modifications for the JK are not cheap either. A pair of bumpers will run you over $2K.

I love my JK, but I wouldn't buy it if price were the determinant. I'd check for something a little bit older. Maybe a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee for $2K and mod the crap out of it.

Another vote for the H3. Sounds like you liked it for what you were using it for.
