Default f l e x i n ' s Gayest YJ Ever!!1

So I got my YJ for $3,300 in November 2008 and it looked to be a solid Jeep. I was wrong, of course. Blew the engine in April, so it went into the shop to get a swap. Got a 4.0 from a 95 XJ. Also, I decided to paint it. This is where I found all of my problems. The entire tub was bondo/rust, or bondo over rust. Let the transformation begin!

This is how I got it.

This is what it looks like now.

I will upload more pics later tonight!

They ALL have rust.
I think they come from the factory with it.

Lets see that big hole on the passenger side in front of the door.

And I think i know what helped kill your engine.... Remember while at the Mounds you were parked on that steep hill. I walk up and say, "wow that sure is making a lot of ticking noise.... are you sure you have oil pressure?" We go look and your gauge is reading 0

I think your jeep is more solid than mine was. I had to cut a lot of rust out.

He's fixing the Jeep. I don't think he's doing anything about his gayness.

Wondered why i hadn't seen your jeep around lately. My Cj was a lot worse. My suggestion...don't take shortcuts in fixing it. Ours are biting us in the azz right now, as the CJ is falling apart.

that sucks man.. my first car was a 94 YJ and i looked at it in the dark. I thought "it needs a paint job!" and i bought it. Get home next morning.. look it over... the frame was split by the steering box, there was the infamous frame rust by the shackles, the floorboard was gone on the driver side, it had half the carpet, the soft top was very bad.. zip tied in. came with no speakers or radio. and i payed 2000 just for all that. bad move on my part.

the nice thing about doing body work on a jeep... its all FLAT!

Did you check the floor pan out were the front seat belts tie in to the floor? If not, I advise you to. I yanked on mine and it came through the floor.

Wow, that's pretty homo. Good to see you're fixing it though. We just went through the same thing with my dad's YJ.
