Default Storming to beat all hell in Howell...

...and I have a brand new whole-house generator that runs, but isn't connected to my house yet.

Bets on how soon I lose power?

(I took my sweet-ole time getting the propane hooked up and the installer is waiting for me to schedule him to come back out and finish up )

IT stormed like crazy here yesterday.

We didn't have power for 7 1/2 hours yesterday.

It's getting dark and you can hear thunder rolling a little farther off. Gonna be an interesting start to the week.

If it thunders and lightinings tomorrow I won't have to work :)

Good thing you didn't go dirtbike riding and stayed home to connect the generator instead.

my dad just called me and said i have 2 big pine trees (60 foot tall) down and my phone line went down. in town kent city i heard that one house is on fire and they had to evacuate the whole trailer park because of a gas leak. power lines and trees are down in the roads. i am pissed that i am stuck in tex ass for all the good storms! but the one good thing about the trees going down is it is a good start to my log course!

At what point does it break the threshold of "beating all hell"?

looks like a serious one. corralled all the flashlights and oil lamps, got the radio. put all of the yard items that could blow away in the garage.

Just came back inside after fixing dog's kennel. They managed to rip apart an entire section. It rained pretty hard, at least it cooled down a bit.

When I didn't have a generator, power used to go out with every storm. Since I bought one, it went out once in the past few years.

The wife and kids just pulled into the driveway after driving back from Virginia just as the tornado sirens went off. Since when do they set off the sirens for severe weather.

When branches from my 80' tall hickory trees rip out and fall on my roof and the very same trees that are 20' away from my house bend over enough to damn hear touch the eaves.

Also, when I can't look out my window and see the cars parked 20' away in my drive.
