Help with i-tunes

Does anyone know how to convert the mp4 format that you get from i-tunes to mp3 ?? I want to rip some cd's and put some on my stiletto. I looked it up and found some software, I was just hoping to find an easier / cheaper way to do so. Thanks in advance

Burn the MP3s to a music cd, then have itunes re-encode the CD back to MP3.

They are mp4 now not mp3. The only way I can burn a cd is like a normal cd, like 12 tracks if I am lucky. And I have over 20,000 songs. Some are already mp3 from limewire, but there are alot more mp4 than mp3. I am hoping to find a way to convert a folder at a time. Thant way I can set up a whole play list and then convert before I upload it to another device.

Have you tried using VLC Player yet? It has built in audio/video converters.

x2 apple/macs are for fucks who dont know how to use a pc

when i worked at GVSU's tech dept, all the teachers got the choice between a pc or a mac for the new school year.

75% chose mac's 25% pc's.

After "raving" about how awsome macs were for about 3 weeks, 90% of the teachers who swore by them were trying to give them back to get pc's, because they didnt make sense and didnt do what they wanted to do. (um you mean like to do actual work?)

I laughed in the faces of those teachers....fucking elitist pricks.

No ... macs are for people who want to get shit done and not have to rebuild the system every 6 months!

After running my own computer repair business and a web server for 5 years, I switched to Mac. God ... now I feel old because I remember buying my first Mac to do video editing for a website and at the time, the only PC option was a VERY expensive video capture card and that horrible AVI codec using Adobe Premiere for Windows 3.1! For 1/2 the price of the card I got a PowerMac 7300 with a Video In RCA jack built-in and software included with it! Imagine that ... a computer that comes with ALL the software needed to use it?

Why would you want to convert to MP3 from MP4? Do you have an older player that doesn't support MP4? Like mentioned, the best bet is to burn them as a normal CD then back in as MP3. The benefit of this is if it was an older DRM file, when it is ripped back in as MP3, the DRM is now gone!

I still can't figure out how/why people manage to screw up a window's based PC.

My mom's 5 year old Dell is still running fine on the original build.

My 6 year old Dell has been wiped/reinstalled once, cause I put in a larger hdd, and didn't want to deal with slaving the new drive.

even my second hand dell 2100 series heap of crap laptop at home is on the original xp build/load.

In the nearly 14 years I was with Oakland County, the only time I had to deal with a new load was when we were forced to go to a higher level OS due to certification requirements of our ESRI/GIS Software (e.g. Win 95 to Win NT to Win XP) - hell even when water was spilled on my first gen xps series laptop, instantly killing the MOBO, CPU, and one Ram Chip, the hdd slid out, and was in another device temporarily while I waited for the parts to come in from Dell.

Fastforward to today, this Vista laptop, while not my preference has been solid enough for the past 16 months, and certainly hasn't required a need every 6 months to be rebuilt...

as for conversion utilities, I don't/won't use an iPod, or iPhone so I don't have any first hand knowledge regarding said discussion - I can say that there is probably a utility at sourceforge.net that will do the trick, as well as several iTunes replacement applications.
