Default Job Sending Me to Houston For 6 Weeks

I am leaving a week from Monday. Anyone here from the Houston area that can recommend some stuff to do? I would like to possibly do a charter boat for fishing off the oil rigs. 6 weeks is a long time to live out of a hotel room and just looking for some ideas. TIA

You can eat tacos and sweat your ass off. Aside from that, there is a battleship exhibit, NASA, and probably more interesting stuff that I can't think of at the moment.

I don't like Houston anymore, I worked for a company that had a terminal over on the western side and man was that a trashy place...
"Fun things to do" included trying not to get shot...

Galveston was about 35 miles from downtown Houston so about 35 miles haha.
corpus Christi was like 3 hours away and i heard the water was much nicer there. I didn't get a chance to go because i was working 6 days a week. freak is wrong about houston I was delivering cars at night to ford dealers and never had a problem. hell most of the time people would ask where i'm from and i tell them near detroit and they ask have i ever seen anybody killed.

first and formost i hate texans! everything you hear about is "as big as texas" (but they get very angry when you remind them they arent the biggest state) they all got this shitty cocky attitude that just irritates me. around dallas you better know spanish to order a cheeseburger. there is nothing that pisses me off more than have to repeat myself 15 times at mcdonalds because the illegal working behind the counter cant understand BIG MAC. if you think that people in michigan drive like asshats try driving around dallas/arlington/fortworth once, it is ridiculous! 107 degrees and 95% humidity isnt fun either!

o, i almost forgot about the deaf weirdo from my apartment complex, lol! my now x girlfriend got "talking" to this weirdo and he invited us over for supper one night. it was pretty damn awkward from the get go with all his loud deaf guy grunts and shit. we ate supper and he said he was going to put a movie in. the next thing you know we are watching some low budget oriental porn and the volume is maxed out! he is grunting and laughing and he kept looking at us with a big ol' smile on his face giving us the thumbs up we made some excuses and got the hell out of there before he chained us up and assraped us! fucking texans!
