Ha, that is funny. My brother is currently unemployed, I am sure he would love to walk around all day sticking these on cars.

Chris,
If I get one of these on my Japanese-made, American-owned Saab, I am going to pee on something of yours.

One of my imports owned an "American" company and the other was owned by an American company when they were built. I bought neither car new, but rather took advantage of the screwing one guy took on a lease turn-in and a screwing the other guy took on a trade-in. Neither purchase "stole" a domestic sale either, as I was not even shopping when either purchase took place. I also own 3 times as many American-made vehicles as I do imports. So .

I would buy one, but I'd kind of be a hypocrite considering I have no plans of ever buying a new car. If I could, I would, and it would be a Chevy. But I cant afford it.

But even then, when I bought my Toyota, it didnt send money to Toyota. The money went to a guy trying to buy a house.

Wife and I bought a Honda Fit a couple years back. We wanted a small car and pay around $15k for it. Only American car that came close to what we wanted was a Dodge Caliber. It got less mpg than the Honda and was like $3k more. You do the math.

So how much did you save? $5-10k? How's your home value doing? How about your investments? Still have a job? Okay, just wondering.

Supporting your country = good.

Not supporting your country = bad.

Glad I am good at math.

Ahahahaha, how annoyed would you be if you got one right on the windshield?

I can see it now in a mall parking lot, coming out to your car, people looking at your car, saying "yep.....serves him right!"

I'm sorry but i'm not going to buy a car just to support a company that isnt making products that i dont want to buy. I'm sure most people had a good reason for purchasing the vehicles they did on the cash-for-clunkers program. Probably the same reason i bought my Honda.

Instead of getting upset at the people who buy forgein cars, why not direct that anger at the American auto companies for not making cheaper more fuel efficient cars. Honda, Toyota, Kia, etc have been doing it for years. What are the Big 3 putting out? Geo Metro, Ford Festiva, Ford Escory, Chevy Aveo, Chrysler K cars. I mean come on seriously, the Big 3 need to get their heads out of their asses and make a some compact and sub compact cars that are worth buying. Not only in price and fuel ecomony but styling and features as well.

The big three have been making cars that people WANT. Not what the government is trying to make people think they need. If you look at the top vehicles sold, they are not your subcompact shit boxes, which is the segment that the US automakers are behind in. If you look at the cars that people actually buy, the US automakers are at the same level or better when it comes to mileage.

I think Ford has done a pretty good job of building the best selling truck for over 30 years, right? Seems they are building things people want.

You pay more for American cars built by American workers, simple as that.

Well obviously Honda and Toyota are making compacts and sub compacts for a reason. People want them. Oil and gas prices aren't coming down and the demand for these cars is just going to keep going up and up. Whether there's a cash-for-clunkers program or not.

Granted I'm just talking about the compact and sub-compact market. If I was in the market for a family sedan I'd be at the Ford dealer picking up a new Ford Fusion or Taurus. But I cant afford to buy a car that expensive so I'm stuck in the small car market. In that market I really dont think the Big 3 can compete. They are certianly better than they used to be.

And for trucks its Ford hands down.

2009 Honda Fit
MPG: 27 mpg city and 33 highway.
Price: $14,235 to $15,685

2009 Ford Focus:
MPG: 24 mpg city and 35 highway, according to EPA.
Price: $14,574 to $16,916

I don't know about you, but I think I would much rather have the Focus. By saving just a couple bucks, you bought yourself one extremely gay looking car.

Don't know where those numbers come from but our in the real world our Honda ('07) gets 36-38hwy @75mph, and no less than 32city. So......

And the only American car my wife would consider was a Dodge Caliber. That was based on styling, features, price, mpg.

2007 Dodge Caliber
MPG (city): 23
MPG (highway): 28
