Aren't the dealers computers full of information that is linked to individuals who did business with the dealer?

Bottom line:

There is no reasonable defense for having this disclaimer on the site, even if it was a dealer only site.

Well, since it is removed, and Glenn Beck did not show it on his show then we can not be sure it was for the dealers or the consumers now can we?

I am not going to dispute what you are saying about the dealers having rights. That is not what Beck was talking about.

He was using something to scare people into not using the website, and probably the program. He was not honest and up front with his source of information. He said that the average consumer would be affected.

Whatever they removed, I would venture to believe it was for dealers only as my own experince over the past number of days on that site does not point to him looking at a consumer related page on the site.

From what little I have heard, this involves the part of the website that dealers go to when registering themselves and cars for the program. It is not accessible by the public.

Can't seem to get to the site right now, but I have been on it before. It is green in the first place, at least the consumer portion.
I have navigated all over the site and not once have I seen an acceptance of terms agreement.

But go ahead an believe whatever Beck tells you, I will wait until there is more proof. Heck, for such a big story, you would think he might have been able to manage a screen shot of what he saw with the full url so we can all see where he was at.

But no, he said, you believe. Without the benefit of anything else to back it up.

And no CC, I still believe in individual privacy, including our own personal computers.

edit: Ahhh, more comes to light. Supposedly (unconfirmed by me as of yet) what Beck showed was from the website esc.gov
Enetprise Services Center
Only accesible by dealers already registered.

OK, I can see the dealer pages in blue that Beck showed. I have not found an agreement yet as I can not log in as a dealer. It talks about registration letters sent to dealers identified by the OEM. As of right now I am not on the exc.gov page, but upon registration, maybe you are sent there. I ave no way to verify this.

I even signed up for updates. Just asked for e-mail. No agreement page.
My wife began to log onto the site to look about the rebate and she read to me the info about how the computer you are on and all the files in the computer is now going to be the property of the us govenment. It was there saw it myself, hope that is proof enough for you pete

Yea, thats right. W did nothing to hurt anybody. Obama created it all just to get elected and make us socialists.

Sorry, but until the real and present problems are addressed and resolved, the previous administration will continue to be brought up.

This shit storm we are living in did not happen overnight on January 20, 2009.

Please, please, please tell me where to click.

I have been on that site a lot since it's inception. (comes with working in the auto industry I guess and wanting to be up on the latest) I have not once seen any kind of a Agreement pop up......period.

If you tell me where to click I would be happy to say I am wrong. But I have been all over that site and have not found it.

I was on that site last week when the program started. I never saw the agreement. When was it removed exactly?

Listen starting at 1:20..."Lets say I want to turn in my clunker. The dealer goes to cars dot gov and hits submit transaction"

He just plays it off like the gov't is haxoring "everyone at home" who goes to the cars website.

Its still a f'd up agreement for the dealers.

And what about the fire storm that Bush had to put out when he got in? Clinton left a huge mess to fix, not to mention all the theft and vandalizm from the leaving of the , the sore losers that they showed themseves to be.
A very large part of this problem, if not all of it was because Bill Clinton would not take out bin ladin when the opportunity was there, see Bill was too busy(football, monica and other women besides his wife) to take care of the real issues.
If anything Bush fixed alot of what old billy boy screwed up. The whole economy and the war thing started with bill clinton and that you cannot deny. There is proof of that in black and white.

Once again, you are just hearing and believing whatever the talking heads on the right tell you.

Glenn Becks piece was total crap.

Use your mind and put the pieces together for yourself.

I have been on that site almost daily looking for one thing or another. I have downloaded and printed some of the pdf files for other people to use for references. Never, not once, have I had a window pop up to ask for an agreement statement.

A large part of my job is system and data security. I think I might notice an agreement like this.

Well that settles it then. Thanks for your input.

Despite Aber61 having witnessed this for himself, it isn't true that it existed because Pete didn't see it himself.

Scottie said so, it must be true.

Pete-

It doesn't matter where what site or where on that site, this privacy agreement appeared on, or that since it's exposure it was removed and reworded. The fact that it existed at all and someone thought it was ok at the time, was an affront to the constitution of this country.

You are big on facts. The fact is that you have a first hand eyewitness to the evidence that supports this story. Unless you think that Aber61 is a liar.

Let's face it, you are ignoring the facts when they don't support what you want to believe. You should take your own advice and put the pieces together yourself.

Instead the left demonize the messenger, call those who believe the story tin foil hatters, and maintain their world view that Pres. Obama is not a marxist. It's a common tactic and it's wearing pretty thin.
