Default need some opinions

specs
71 blazer 350 / 465 / t-221, dana 44 and 12 bolt running 35's

after my road trip, i need a auto trans, and i would like o/d

so 700r4 is the answer i think (any other ideas?)
I have a opportunity to get a 700r4 and a 241 tcase out of a 2500

yes i would like to mud bog, not competitively just for fun
yes to silver lake

any one see any problems with this setup? what else am i missing?

yes i know i will need new driveshafts

Only thing I'd do is make sure it gets a good rebuild. 700r's went the toughest trans. But if built right will hold up. Only other thing I can think of is 4l80e but you would need a computer for that trans I believe.

I have a late model K case 4wd that needs a rebuild, it'd be a perfect starting point for you if you want a 700r4.

700-R4 is your best bet, just get a HD rebuild, and it'll hold up just fine, might want to consider a high stall t converter too

Saw you at the dunes but we were on opposite sides of the fence. Never saw you after. Hope you weren't broke down but just disappointed with the current setup.

yeah just disappointed with the current setup, if i went hardcore the 465 is great.

the 4 hour drive , pushing 3k + on the motor was deafening(sp) while on the freeway. (i did do 70mph on this setup which really suprised me for a 40yr old drivetrain)
the 2.5 inch exhaust is to blame for that.
the rockwell t case was a pain in the ass, and shifting gears while trying to hill climb was lame.

never broke down and i was even asked to help pull a deisel f250 out of the park since he flooded his motor in the puddles. i had the motor but shifting gears made it impossible. i wish i had pics of that, but it wouldn't have been legit unless we made it to the parking lot.

since this is coming out of a 2500 , wouldn't it be safe to assume its setup already?

I'm a little lost on the trans internals, never been inside one.
