Default Advanceing the timeing 351w

I have a 96 f150 351w with all the electronic crap, and I want to know how to advance the timeing so the computer doesn't try to compensate for it. There is a tag under the hood saying not to mess with it because the computer controls it. I know chevy's have some wire you unplug under the dash to set it so it wont mess up the computer.

just trying to change the timing is not going to do what you want, because the ECM WILL try to compensate for it after you reconnect the Spout connector...if all your looking to do is get a ittle more power out of it, then your best bet is one of the many aftermarket programmers that are available..if you leave the stock system, then keep it to the stock specs, or it wont run correctly (loss of power, loss of economy, etc.)

The spout is located on the driver side fender. Its a little square grey piece that plugs in. You pull that, and set your timing. Try bumping it to 12* instead of the stock 10*. Once your done, you need to plug the spout back in. The computer actually advances these motors quite high. So don't think its holding it back. It will only hold it back if something is not right.
