Default Another 2Bil for Cash for Clunkers?

WTF?!?!

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/31/h...rs-senate-vot/

Quote:
The U.S. House of Representatives voted 316 to 109 today in favor of H.R. 3435, a bill that will infuse the Car Allowance Rebate System, or Cash for Clunkers program, with an extra $2 billion. Word came late Thursday evening that the program, which offers consumers a rebate of $3,500 - $4,500 for trading in a "clunker", might be suspended after blowing through its initial funding of $1 billion in less than a week. Lawmakers managed to find the extra money in unused loans for renewable energy systems and pass it through the House today before the body breaks for a five-week-long vacation.

The Cash for Clunkers program will reportedly continue through the weekend and into next week when the funding bill arrives in the Senate where swift passage might not be guaranteed. The original bill that launched the program had many detractors in the Senate, some of who may see this as a second opportunity to either end the program or makes its fuel efficiency requirements even stricter. Even the amount of $2 billion could change for better or worse before the bill is approved by the Senate.

What should be obvious to everyone, however, is that if the original funding of $1 billion lasted less than a week, can we expect another $2 billion to extend the program more than another two weeks? The original program was slated to receive $4 billion in funding, but it's now clear that even full funding would've been exhausted far short of C4C's original end date in November. Meanwhile, despite reports from dealers that the program's reimbursement process is a mess, at least we know consumers are out there taking advantage of it.

Just think of the cute little clown cars you love so much that will replace that big gas hog boat of a car.

The destruction of the cars is just plan stupid.

Then we can all be good, respectful subjects of Obama and the democrat majorities in congress.

Fucking retards blowing up these rides is just a shame. I'll bet they would LOVE to get their hands on some of our Jeeps and force us to drive cars like the Prius. Fuck them and their cash for clunkers.

Wow, that WJ was a trooper, especially after 2:14 when you hear the internals letting go.

What does this liquid glass stuff actually do to the engine? Does it just seize it?

the interesting part is if you do the research the dealers are supposed to only let the engine run at 2000 and states clearly do not free rev the engine at maximum rpm.

those videos were not the correct way to disable the engine. it says not to go over 2k rpm. and th objective it not to "blow up" the engine.
it is only supposed to run long enough so the motor will not idle.
they were all abusing the job. but im not one to talk. i have had my fun with this program as well.

no. well sort of. it can. at about 210-220 degrees the water mixed in to the solution will start to evaporate. when that happens you are left with jut the sodium silicate which is a solid. that will just eat everything it comes in contact with. its basically the same thing as if you could pump sad through all the oil passages.

Obama has saved or created jobs because of this bone head move, I have always wondered how he can save a job. Creating a job is one thing but to "save a job" how does one do that? You would never know if you save one until you lost it then its gone.... so... you didn't save anything... circle talk from the far left......... of obamaism

Waiting to hear how car sales do next year now that everyone ran out on this program to buy new cars, and see Obama's "fix" second time around.

Seems to me that WJ might have been worth more then 4500

It seems having a tax credit if you bought a new car would have been more beneficial, and the "greener" the car the bigger the tax break.

But what the hell do i know.

But that doesn't gain the total control that these liberal cocksuckers want. The whole point of the thing is to take our "gas guzzlers" off the street for good.

These fucktards envision a country full of tiny-toy cars, high speed trains, bicycles, windmills, solar panels and public lands that only hiking tree huggers with bio-degradable toilet paper will be allowed on. A country where only the military has firearms (with no ammunition) and anybody they deem to be a "hater" or "right wing-radical" can be ushered off to prison. A country where faggots and other assorted fuck-ups can marry farm animals and everyone is completely equal in every aspect of their lives. Remember, "spread the wealth"? A socialist society. Obama = Hitler.
